tamánd- (intransitive verb), imperfect tamándav: to look, look around; to wait, await.

As shown by the example sentence, an oblique argument in the illative can be added to a sentence with the verb tamándav in order to express who is being waited for.

hangú– (transitive verb), imperfective hangúram: to forget about, let (something) slip away (from one’s grip or memory).

yattá is one of a handful of nouns in High Eolic which cannot take any number/definiteness markers. It is clearly derived from the noun tar ‘eye’, probably from a plural form used with an initial intensifying vowel or epenthetic.
